James Bond Skyfall: No Spoilers I promise!

I saw the James Bond movie Skyfall tonight and as always one of the most impressive aspects of this film was James Bond's athleticism.  Unfortunately a friend of mine posted the key element of the storyline on facebook so that spoilt it for me slightly.  I won't do the same!

However there is one thing I wanted to share with you about the movie.  Whilst watching Skyfall I really began to pay attention to Bond's running style.  The reason being it demonstrated a really efficient running style - which had nothing to do with CGI effects, the use of a stunt double or just about looking good for action purposes.  It is all about the running.

Rather surprising, but if you want to see good technique in relation to running and to experience a pretty decent film into the bargain, watch this movie.

I admit not your usual movie review - but just think of me when you pick up on the running technique.

60 Second Interview: David Csonka

Who are you?

David Csonka. I'm an application developer at a university, and I blog about fitness, nutrition, and barefoot running.

What is fitness to you?

Being healthy, and unencumbered by physical limitations.

What are your goals?

To be as healthy as I am now, 40 years in the future.

What is one of your main concerns in relation to health?

Fitness and nutrition plans guided by misinformation and faulty "common knowledge". Specifically, the fallacious low-fat diet.

What is your favourite meal?

Something new I recently tried, a Meat-za. Burger patties with pizza sauce, bacon, cheese, and pepperoni on top. It was love at first bite.

What is your favourite exercise/activity?

Trail running, hiking. I love running out into the woods to experience nature, and take photos of flowers and animals. Being away from the noises and distractions of civilization is nice.
