Testimonial: Virtual Training (First 28 Days)

Week 4:

Spurred on by successes and inch loss of the first two weeks, it’s easy to start focussing too much on “the numbers”.  Darryl helpfully reminded me of my aims - long term health whilst also supporting nursing my baby. I started consciously focussing on the qualitative benefits of following the paleo fitness lifestyle, observing that I feel significantly more energetic and clear headed.  This is a long term program of health to enable me to enjoy playing with my children and be around for them rather than simple weight loss.

During week 4, I had a visit to my physiotherapist about my 10cm diastasis recti.  It was over two weeks since my last appointment and I was a nervous. I had been focussing entirely on my Virtual Training program instead of the gentle exercises I had been prescribed. What if there was no improvement? Or worse: what if I the muscle separation had been exacerbated? I had been advised not to do anything strenuous..... I need not have worried. Amazingly, exercises such as Darryl's plank tennis had closed my 10cm diastasis recti!  The physio could not believe it and was genuinely incredulous. I feel absolutely brilliant that I have given myself this gift - bringing my stomach muscles back together is a significant achievement!

The highlight at the end of the week was a simple pleasure: an afternoon playing and utilising my strength to have fun with my kids.  4 weeks ago I would never have believed that my stomach muscles would be reunited and that I would feel strong enough to hang upside down!
