Thinking today about a recent large gathering of family and friends. You can't help but notice some people look far older than others, or seem to have aged significantly almost overnight! But then again "looks" can be a poor determination of age, after all there are many surgical and non-surgical options available for us to "look younger" or some of us can be deemed more fortunate than others in terms of "good genes".
However, observing my 60 year old cousin there was something about him that had nothing to do with looks, or having a young mentality, or being the result of a surgeon's knife. It was how he moved! I watched his posture, grace, energy and confidence in movement and saw other relatives in comparison looking tired, frail and shadows of their former selves.
His secret? He puts it down to a daily regime of some press-ups, sit-ups, squats, eating good food, walking a lot, not drinking or smoking and playing every day. He also does look far younger than his years because of it.
He's an inspiration to me!
"Movement is one aspect of anti-ageing that is often overlooked and vastly under rated." - Darryl Edwards
