Paleo: What It's Really About

 

I met Karen Phelps of Paleo Periodical at Paleo F(x) and after an indepth chat about my philosophy of movement - she decided to come along to my PRIMALity workshop session the following day.  I suspect she also felt indebted to me because a bit of tactical thinking ensured we both got a special edition copy of In Search of the Perfect Human Diet :-)  A full review of this movie documentary will be posted soon.

Karen recently wrote a blog post about her time at Paleo F(x) but without doubt this was a post with a difference.  It was not about her meeting the 'stars' of the paleo world,  or about her recent transformation, or about particular products or services.  But her thoughts on what the paleo movement is REALLY about.  I don't want to spoil it for you, but it is a wonderful and touching piece of writing...

Workout: Tabata Tuesday : Paleo f(x)

 

Workout:

Tabata Intervals (A 24 minute workout - including rest periods)

  • 20sec Crab Walk, 10sec rest - (repeat for 8 rounds).
  • rest - 1 minute
  • 20s Bunny Hop, 10s rest - (repeat for 8 rounds)
  • rest - 1 minute
  • 20s Crocodile Walk, 10s rest - (repeat for 8 rounds)
  • rest - 1 minute
  • 20s Cat Walk, 10s rest - (repeat for 8 rounds)
  • rest - 1 minute
  • 20s Backwards Bear Crawl, 10s rest - (repeat for 8 rounds)

* Go as far as you can and as fast as you can during those 20s periods of work.

Note:

Please scale all Fitness Explorer workouts and playouts to your current ability.  This may mean increasing or decreasing the weights prescribed, modifying distances and times, or changing number of sets and reps to complete.  Get adequate rest and sufficient nutrition to fuel the activity and to aid in recovery.  Work hard and play hard but never sacrifice correct form.
